What Does the Treatment Involve?
During your appointment, your podiatrist will:
- Assess the lesion to confirm that it is a verruca and determine its depth and severity.
- Gently debride (pare down) the thickened skin over the verruca to expose the viral tissue.
- Apply nitric acid solution directly to the verruca using a fine, controlled applicator.

- A protective dressing is then applied to shield the area and allow the solution to continue acting over the next 24â48 hours.
